Clemens and Government Conspiracy. T/F

I just read a pretty interesting article on Si.com that quotes Brian McNamee's lawyer giving his reasons why he thinks Roger Clemens is sticking to his story. He stated that "It's my belief they have some reason to believe they can get a pardon".

Whaa.....!?

Apparently Roger Clemens is good friends with George H.W Bush (he's an Astros fan), and one of the last acts of Ol' Jr's presidency might be to pardon his Dad's good buddy. If that's indeed the case, then Roger Clemens can say whatever he wants in a court of law, and even if he is found guilty on perjury charges, he will get off scott free.

I'm not going to say right away that I believe this, mainly because I'm a huge baseball fan, and I still want to believe that Clemens is telling the truth. I'm also not going to say it couldn't be true. The way Clemens questioning was split down party lines supports the lawyers theory, Republicans where soft on him, Democrats asked him tough questions, Republicans were hard on McNamee, Democrats defended him. Why is that? Is it coincidence, or is it a microcosm for how low this administration has gone. They mess up the country, and now, don't even care if they get it cleaned up before they move out. Instead our government is focused on drugs in professional sports, while they put band-aids on everything else. November can't come fast enough.

What I'm really hoping is that this case goes away before it gets to that. There are much more pressing issues that the branches of our government could be focusing on. Unless your going to arrest atheletes on past drug use (which they can't), then leave professional sports issues in the fans and players jurisdiction.
