Now I hate the Patriots just as much as you do, or at least as much as you should. There is nothing I want more than for them to go down in a blaze of despair and dissapointment on Sunday. I also agree that "spygate" was swept under the rug a little to quickly. That being said, I do not think spygate is a matter of national security.
Pennsylvania Senator Arlen "Big Daddy" Spector for some reason thinks, that despite there being a war going on, despite the fact we are about to enter a recession, despite the fact that there are about a million things that go on in this world that REALLY matter, that congress needs to investigate why the NFL destroyed the spygate tapes. Seriously.
What's so funny to me is that there was something similar to this that happened in Washington, yet they continue to this day to drg their feet on the matter. That of course being the destruction of the CIA tapes of interogations using waterboarding at Guantanamo. Now there are some tapes that people would like to have answers from.
Yes the Patriots cheated. Yes they got off easy, and yes, mainstream sports media (I'm looking at you ESPN) act like it doesn't matter. But there are much more important matters for our tax dollars to be spent on. Congress spends way too much time worrying about the sports world, and not nearly enough on the real world.
